Legal Foundation
Law No. 2017-86 of January 27, 2017 "Equality and Citizenship" established a framework requiring institutions to validate the skills acquired by students during their volunteer work, civic service, and professional activities. Reinforced by the circular of March 23, 2023, this ambition aims to integrate engagement into the heart of the academic journey, transforming it into a full-fledged component of education.
Social Integration
Engagement fosters a sense of integration and helps combat isolation. Indeed, 48.5% of engaged students feel well-integrated on their campus, a figure much higher than the average of 34.5% observed for all students.
Academic Success
Social integration is a key factor for success. Research shows that each point gained on the social integration scale translates into a 0.55 point increase in exam averages, all other things being equal.

Employability
Involvement in associations is an asset for the integration of young graduates: 84.1% of recruiters see it as a gain in "soft skills". This positive trend marks a change since 2011, when the impact of engagement was perceived as neutral, or even negative.
